Rowing Closes Fall Competition at Foot of the Charles

First Varsity 8+ Records 6th Place Finish
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston College rowing team closed their fall season competing at the Foot of the Charles Saturday morning.

It was a cool morning with a high of 61F and low of 43F on Saturday with a bit of sprinkling showers early on.
Â
The Varsity 8+, coxed by Caroline Jennings with rowers Sofia Martin, Ella Ryan, Lauren Bauer, Lucy Barratt, Molly Devine, Reagan Rock, Grace Yi and Lauren Craven, finished in 14:35.0. The crew finished ahead of Boston University and Northeastern's B crews as well as Harvard-Radcliffe's Lightweight crew. They finished 20 seconds behind first place Harvard Radcliffe B.

The Second Varsity 8+, a team of coxswain Madelyn Stevens, and rowers Erin Smith, Claire Piacentini, Lauren Schramm, Jennie Sherwood, Leighton Smith, Leighton Davis, Angela Devine and Callaghan Nickerson posted a time of 15:01.1. The crew finished ahead of Harvard's Lightweight B crew.

The Third Varsity 8+, coxed by Lucy Fortner with rowers Quinn Baker, Jolie McTamney, Vanessa Ksiazek, Alice Frascella, Beatrice Maxwell, Olivia Hankey, Chloe Wilkinson and Amelia Sanger finished the course with a time of 15:09.7. The boat finished nearly a minute after first place Harvard's B crew.

The Fourth Varsity 8+, coxed by Tariya Singh with rowers Molly Smith, Josie Hohenrieder, Molly O'Connell, Ella Davis, Sofia Olivar, Sofia Tamayo, Emma Lawson and Molly Welch recorded a time of 16:07.0.
