BC Sailing Grabs First Victory of 2025 Season

The Eagles have three regattas next weekend.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Boston College sailing returned to action this weekend, picking up their first victory of the 2025 season, winning the Ivan Geiger Trophy hosted by MIT. The Eagles also competed in the Southern New England Team Race and the Southern New England Women's Team Race, which were both hosted by Connecticut College.
The action started on the Charles River on Saturday with the Geiger Trophy regatta. The Eagles went 6-1 in the first round, picking up wins over Boston University (1-2-6), the Coast Guard Academy (1-2-5), MIT (1-2-3), Northeastern (1-2-5), Tufts (1-2-6), and Rhode Island (1-2-3). Their lone loss in the first round came to Bowdoin (3-4-5). BC would again go 6-1 in round two, this time falling to BU.Â
In New London, the Eagles snagged second place in the Southern NE Team Race and a fourth place finish in the women's team race.
