INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Elijah Onik will represent Boston College at the NCAA DI Fencing Championships on March 20-23 in University Park, Pa. as announced by the NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee on Tuesday afternoon.Â
The 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships will take place March 20-23, hosted by Penn State at its multi-sport facility.
Elijah Onik will take part in the Men's Foil competition, which will begin on Thursday, March 20 at 11 a.m. with rounds 1-3. The round-robin format will wrap up on Friday with rounds 4-5, which are set to begin at 9 a.m. The Men's semifinal and championship bouts will take place on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Onik is coming off a second place finish in Men's Foil at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regionals, where he competed against top talent from the region. The Glen Rock, N.J. native also placed top-15 at the ACC Championships meet, finishing 12th overall.Â
Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After round robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places, and non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
An institution's place finish in the championships will be based on points earned by each individual. A team will be awarded one point for each victory by its student-athletes during round-robin competition.
Fans will be able to follow along on ESPN+ on Friday and Sunday.Â
