Men's 800 yd Freestyle Relay Breaks School Record at Day 1 of ACC Championships

The Men’s 800 yd Freestyle Relay consisting of Jack Doyle, Peter Nolan, Finnegan Crawford, Benjamin Huffman earned a school record time of 6:29.65.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College Swimming & Diving opened the 2025 ACC Championships with the diving and relay events on Tuesday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.Â
The Eagles kicked off the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships on Tuesday with the Women's 1m and Men's 3m diving events. Allison McCabe was the lone Eagle that participated in the Women's 1m diving, placing 46th overall with a score of 194.30. Angus Williams was the highest scorer for BC in Men's 3m diving, earning 17th place with a score of 351.68. Anthony Rosenberger placed 31st while scoring 321.08, and Max Conway had a score of 309.30 and finished 37th. Â
BC made school history on Tuesday night as the Men's 800 yd Freestyle Relay consisting of Jack Doyle, Peter Nolan, Finnegan Crawford, Ben Huffman earned a school record time of 6:29.65. The group of four broke their previous record by over seven seconds.
The Eagles' Women's 800 yd Freestyle Relay team of Olivia Howard, Lauren Lee, Julienne Saliou, Chloe Otten raced to a time of 7:28.57.Â
The Men's 200 yd Medley Relay of Luke Condon, Jack Doyle, Bryce Henkel, Charles Bruce placed 12th overall with their time of 1:28.48. The Eagles followed up with the Women's 200 yd Medley Relay finishing 14th. The relay group of Samantha Smith, Liza Murtagh, Olivia Brown, Elizabeth Oliphant compiled a time of 1:43.41.
Up next: Boston College Swimming & Diving will head into day 2 of the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m. and finals will start at 5:30 p.m., while fans can stream the meet on ACCNX.
