
Women's Hockey Drops 4–2 Decision at Northeastern

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College scored twice in the opening period but Northeastern rallied with three unanswered goals, including the game-winner late in the third, as the Eagles dropped a 4–2 road result on Saturday at Matthews Arena.
BC opened the scoring at 4:15 of the first when Madelyn Murphy finished a feed from Emma Conner and Ava Thomas, giving the Eagles an early 1–0 edge. Northeastern tied it just four minutes later, but BC regained the lead at 19:11 on the power play. Sammy Taber converted in the slot after Conner and Murphy worked the puck across the crease, sending BC into the first intermission ahead 2–1.
Northeastern evened the game early in the second, capitalizing at 4:16 to make it 2–2. From there, the teams traded chances through a scoreless stretch before the Huskies found the late breakthrough. With 2:08 remaining, Lily Shannon buried the go-ahead goal off a feed from Stryker Zablocki. Northeastern added an empty-net tally at 19:20 to close out the scoring.
Grace Campbell finished with 37 saves, turning aside 14 shots in the opening frame and 15 more during the second period. BC generated 30 shots offensively, led by seven attempts from Ava Thomas and five from Murphy.
