The freshman earns recognition from the league after a stellar month
AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Louka Cloutier was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month, announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
Cloutier posted a 6-1-0 record in the month of November, the most of any goaltender in the league. The freshman played a key role in BC allowing a league-best 13 goals during the month. He was second in the league in goals against average (1.88) and fourth in save percentage (.927). He posted two shutouts in road wins over Vermont (Nov. 8) and No. 12 UMass (Nov. 15), and recorded a career-high 35 saves in the 7-3 victory over No. 10 Maine on Nov. 21.
The Sherbrooke, Canada native became the first Eagle to earn a league monthly award this season. He was named the league's Rookie of the Week on Nov. 10 following the weekend sweep at Vermont, and was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Week the following week on Nov. 17 after BC's weekend sweep of No. 12 UMass.
BC closes out the semester with a home-and-home series against UMass Lowell this weekend. The two teams play at the Tsongas Center on Friday at 7:15 p.m. before closing out the season series on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Kelley Rink. Both games will be available to watch on ESPN+.
