Thomas Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College freshman Ava Thomas has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Thomas recorded three points in BC's weekend series against St. Lawrence. 16 seconds into overtime, she scored the game-winner on Friday's 3-2 victory and added an assist earlier in the game. On Saturday, she scored her 11th goal of the season to give the Eagles a brief third-period lead.
Thomas leads all BC freshmen in scoring and ranks at the top of Hockey East's first-year skaters in goals and points. Her contributions helped the Eagles move to 9-7-1 overall on the season.
Thomas finished the weekend with 12 shots on goal and a +2 rating across the two games.
