Ava Thomas Named Hockey East Player of the Month

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College freshman forward Ava Thomas has been named the Hockey East Player of the Month after a dominant start to her collegiate career.
No player in Hockey East recorded more points than Thomas to open the 2025–26 season, as the rookie racked up 14 points in just nine games. Her 61 shots on goal were the most of any player in the league and ranked fourth nationally, while her six goals and eight assists each stood as the second-highest totals in Hockey East.
Thomas's first month of NCAA action featured eight of her first nine games on the road, including a breakout four-point effort in a 4–1 win over Saint Anselm. She produced an impressive 10 points in the span of three games from Oct. 4–11.
