Radivojevic had an opening for a shot from the blueline, but Letourneau was in the goalie's sightline and tipped the puck to redirect it into the net.
Trailing 2-1 going into the second period, BC scored the equalizer early in the middle frame when Fortescue ripped a shot through traffic that tucked inside the bottom left corner. Aram Minnetian and Michael Hagens combined on the right side before Minnetian swung the puck across to an open Fortescue on the left side for the sophomore to take advantage of the space in front of him to fire home the tying goal.
Boston College took its first lead of the night midway through the second period when J. Hagens got on the scoresheet. Teddy Stiga picked up the puck along the boards, made a no-look pass to Hagens for a shot that took a slight deflection off a UMass defender on its way in.
BC came flying out of the gates to start the third period, scoring two goals in the first 1:33. Conmy got things going with a power play goal just 44 seconds into the period, before Vote pushed the lead to three just 49 seconds later after following up on a loose puck from close range.
The Minutemen scored a power play goal of their own to make it five 5-3, but the Eagles responded with two more goals to cap off the victory. Berard took advantage of an empty net for UMass to push the lead back to three, and Traeger joined in on the scoring with less than 30 seconds to go.
