Volleyball Announces Class of 2026 Signees
November 12, 2025 | Volleyball
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College volleyball is excited to announce the signing of six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the Eagles in the Fall of 2026.
This class features three signees from California, two from Florida and one from North Carolina. Joining the Eagles are outside hitters Ava Castro and Mia Gold, middle blockers Chloe Allcroft and Laney Blevins, setter Ava McBride and defensive specialist Tiani Shaw.
Ava Castro | OH | Palm Beach, Fla.
Jason on Ava - "Ava is such a dynamic athlete with a great arm. She has all the mechanics to develop into an elite ball control passer and attacker. She has a very natural touch on the ball with her platform and is a phenomenal middle back defender. Additionally, her ability to get off the floor and get on the ball as quickly as she does certainly makes her difficult to defend."
Ava McBride | S/RS | Los Angeles, Calif.
Jason on Ava - "Ava is a good versatile athlete to be able to add to this class. She comes in as a dual threat as a setter and an attacker making her a realistic option for a true 6-2 style of player. She has continually improved at both skills over the last few years and I'm looking forward to figuring out how exactly she fits best into our system once she gets here."
Chloe Allcroft | MB | Mill Valley, Calif.
Jason on Chloe - "Chloe continues a long line of middles from northern California for us. She has an elite arm as an attacker and is able to score from various spots on the floor. She plays at a high point on the net so as soon as she has a few weeks in the gym with the speed of the collegiate game I would expect to see her grasp things very quickly.
Laney Blevins | MB | Kernersville, N.C.
Jason on Laney - "Laney comes in with a variety of skills at her disposal. She plays as a middle for one of the top teams in North Carolina and plays as an outside hitter for her high school. She has one of the strongest arms in the class and can use it to score as a middle or a pin attacker. As a blocker Laney reads the game remarkably well and is able to get her hands over the net in the right spot more often than not. I'm excited to get Laney in the gym this summer and work with her to transition her skillset to be effective in the ACC."
Mia Gold | OH | Miami, Fla.
Jason on Mia - "Mia is someone that gets better every time we see her. She has such a great approach to the game and work ethic that I'm confident she'll be a critical part of our lineup in the near future. Her volleyball IQ is among the highest of her age group and she is able to compete with some of the best hitters in her age group because of her versatility. She comes in with some high-level club experience and should be ready to come in and have a quick immediate impact on our gym."
Tiani Shaw | L/DS | Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Jason on Tiani - "Tiani is someone that from the start we knew would be a good fit for BC. She has the right personality for a libero – someone that will go for everything and works diligently at her craft to be the best she can be. She reads the game well and especially in serve receive brings a calming presence to her side. She plays for one of the top high school teams in the country and comes from programs that have a history of winning. She will be a critical part of our floor defense for the next four years."
