CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College Athletics and William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Blake James are thrilled to announce that Maggie Dwyer has been named the new senior associate athletics director for development.Â
Â
Dwyer joined Boston College in September 2024 as the assistant athletics director for major gifts, and led her team to the most successful fundraising year for BC Athletics since 2021.Â
Â
"We are excited for Maggie to continue her journey at Boston College," James said. "Maggie's proven track record of fundraising and building strong relationships throughout the BC community makes her an excellent choice for leading the athletics development team and advancing the student-athlete experience here at the Heights."
Â
Before joining Boston College, Dwyer held athletics development positions at Jacksonville University and University of Delaware. To complement her work in development, she also served as the associate head coach of women's rowing at Jacksonville University from 2016 to 2020.
Â
Dwyer earned her bachelor's degree in sociology from University of Pennsylvania, where she was a four-year rower. She earned a master's degree in organizational leadership from Jacksonville University.
Â
Dwyer will oversee Athletics development during Soaring Higher: the Campaign for Boston College, a $3 billion fundraising effort that aims to raise more than $400 million for Athletics.
Â
"I am very honored to be named the senior associate athletic director for development at Boston College," said Dwyer. "BC is a special place and I look forward to continuing to connect our incredibly passionate and generous donors back to the institution in a meaningful way. I want to thank our William V. Campbell Director of Athletics, Blake James and Vice President for Development, Beth Thompson for the opportunity to lead our athletics development team. I look forward to working with both Blake and Beth to continue supporting our student-athletes and coaches as they represent BC at the highest level!"
