October 03, 2025 | Men's Soccer
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Boston College men's soccer fell to the Syracuse Orange, 1-0, in an ACC match on Friday evening at the SU Soccer Stadium.
BC drops to 5-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the ACC while Syracuse improves to 5-4-2 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play.
The Eagles opened the half on the front foot, earning two free kicks and multiple scoring chances in the first 10 minutes. Marci Killeen had the best opportunity of the first 45 minutes, as a soft touch pass from Michael Asare landed perfectly to Killeen inside of the box. Syracuse's goalkeeper Tomas Hut's quick action off the goal line forced a chip shot from Killeen, which curled just past the left post. Andrej Borak was on point for the Eagles too, registering five saves to keep the score at 0-0 going into the second half.
After a back-and-forth affair to start the second half, the Orange drew first when a lofted ball from Giona Liebold on the left wing found the head of Bryson Rodriguez at the edge of the six-yard box. His header was pushed past the outstretched hand of Andrej Borak to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
The Eagles continued in search of an equalizer, recording five shots on goal after the opener, but were unable to find the back of the net as Syracuse held on for a 1-0 decision.
The Orange edged the Eagles in shots on goal, 7-6, while the Eagles earned one more corner, edging it 7-6.
Boston College returns to Newton Soccer Field for an ACC matchup against No.9-ranked Duke. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and the game will be available to watch on ACC Network Extra.
