First-of-Its-Kind NIL and Collectibles Program
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — October 23, 2025 — Boston College Athletics and cllct, a leader in sports heritage and collectibles innovation, today announced an official partnership to launch Eagle Heritage Authentics, a groundbreaking initiative designed to celebrate the Eagles' proud history while creating new opportunities for student-athletes through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
Through the partnership, cllct will help Boston College build a comprehensive archival and collectibles infrastructure that brings the university's most iconic athletic moments - from Doug Flutie's "Hail Mary" and Hockey East dominance to modern-day triumphs across football, basketball, and Olympic sports - to life as authenticated, collectible experiences for fans and alumni.
"Boston College has one of the most passionate and tradition-rich fan bases in college athletics," said Blake James, William V. Campbell Director of Athletics. "Eagle Heritage Authentics gives us a way to celebrate that history, honor our student-athletes past and present, and offer fans the opportunity to own a piece of what makes BC so special."
The program will debut with a foundational heritage audit across BC Athletics, cataloging artifacts, game-used gear, and archival materials that form the basis of future collectibles. The initiative will also establish an Eagle Heritage Hub - a central vault and storytelling studio located within the athletics department - to manage the creation, authentication, and sale of official BC collectibles.
A Living Platform for Legacy and Connection
Beyond collecting, Eagle Heritage Authentics is about sharing. The platform will allow fans, alumni, and families to connect through Boston College's most meaningful sports moments - to hold, display, and pass along pieces of Eagles history that can be shared across generations. Whether displayed in a home, given as a gift, or passed down to a future Superfan, each collectible carries forward the tradition and pride of BC Athletics.
Collectible Tiers
In addition to honoring the past, the program will provide direct NIL opportunities for current student-athletes through a centralized system that allows gear returns, authentication, and co-created collectibles ensuring student participation and shared success.
"We're honored to partner with Boston College on such an important and innovative project," said Steven Ziff, CEO of cllct. "Our goal is to help schools like BC preserve their legacy while creating new pathways for engagement, storytelling, and NIL revenue. Eagle Heritage Authentics will become a living, evolving celebration of what it means to be an Eagle and a BC Superfan."
The program's rollout will begin this fall with the first limited-edition collections and storytelling activations, followed by ongoing seasonal releases and alumni collaborations.
