Eddie Shabomardenly

Eddie Shabomardenly is entering his fifth year at Boston College and his first as Assistant Athletics Director for Communications.
In his role, he will lead the communications team and drive Boston College’s creative strategy and media coordination across all 31 varsity programs. Key responsibilities include developing a department-wide content strategy, strengthening relationships with local and national media, overseeing graphic design initiatives, and enhancing the overall Boston College Athletics brand. Additional responsibilities include overseeing photo and video production for games, events, interviews, and media days.
Shabomardenly was elevated to this role is September 2025 after spending the previous four years as a graphic designer for the creative services team.
Since coming to BC, Shabomardenly launched a creative services internship program of 20+ students focused on photo, video and social media content creation. He also enforces brand guidelines for internal and external partners in addition to acting as a liaison between sponsorship and creative teams to ensure proper execution of all projects. While managing the social media strategy at BC, he has grown the total following on all accounts to over 1.3 million total followers. This total represents an increase of over 188,000 followers during the 2024-25 academic year.
Prior to coming to the Heights, Shabomardenly worked at St. John’s University in New York City as a creative services assistant for athletics. In this role he developed a visual brand that is present across all digital and print content including posters, flyers, apparel, and large-scale print designs. During his time at St. Johns, the external team he was a part of were finalists for seven different NACMA “Best of” Awards for the 2019-20 athletic year. Shabomardenly and his team recorded a bronze finish in “Multiplatform Branding Campaign”.
Shabomardenly earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Rhode Island in 2018, and his Master of Business Administration from St. John’s University in 2020.
