Glaser and Piku Score in Loss to No. 4 Cornell
October 18, 2025 | Women's Hockey
ITHACA, N.Y. — Boston College women's hockey scored twice in the third period but could not erase an early deficit, falling to No. 4 Cornell, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink.
The Big Red struck first at 12:14 of the opening frame and carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Cornell added to its advantage midway through the second period despite a 10-shot push from the Eagles, then opened the third with back-to-back tallies — including a power-play goal — to stretch the margin to 4-0.
Boston College broke through at 9:18 of the final frame when Lauren Glaser netted her first goal of the season. Just under six minutes later, Tricia Piku recorded her first career tally off a feed from Ava Thomas to bring the Eagles within two.
Goaltender Grace Campbell turned aside 39 shots, while Cornell's Annelies Bergmann made 24 saves to earn the win. The Big Red outshot BC 46-26 and went 1-for-5 on the power play. The Eagles finished 0-for-2 with the skater advantage.
The Eagles fall to 3-4-0 on the season and will continue non-conference action next week.
