
Women’s Soccer Drops Contest to Louisville

NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team came up just short on Sunday afternoon, falling 1–0 to Louisville at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex.
Louisville (11-3-1, 4-2-1 ACC) struck early, as Betsy Huckaby scored in the third minute, placing a shot from the top of the 18 into the upper left corner. Boston College (4-6-5, 0-5-2) pushed for an equalizer throughout the match, recording three shots on goal in the first half and four in the second, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Goalkeeper Olivia Shippee made five saves for the Eagles, while Sophie Reale led the attack with three shots, including one on target. Both teams finished with three corner kicks and three offsides.
Boston College will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 19, traveling to face Syracuse at 12 p.m.
