BC Women’s Hockey Signs Luna Through Team IMPACT

Eagles team up with Luna via national non-profit organization
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Boston College Jane Rattigan Head Women's Hockey Coach Katie Crowley announced a new team member, signing 5-year-old Luna through Team IMPACT.
Luna was officially introduced at a signing day press conference on Friday, Sept. 6 inside Conte Forum. She will regularly participate in team activities and attend home games.
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multi-year program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
"Team IMPACT is excited to see Luna join the Eagles," said Emma Simches, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to Partner with Boston College, their athletic department, and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates.
Boston College has worked with Team IMPACT for the past 13 years, matching 32 children across its men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, women's lacrosse, football, swimming and diving, men's and women's hockey, cheerleading, co-ed skiing, women's volleyball, men's golf, women's field hockey, and women's track teams.
"We are so excited to add Luna to our BC Hockey family," Coach Crowley said. "Her energy and excitement will be a great addition during our games, in our locker room and around campus. Our players already have a great connection with Luna and we can't wait to see that grow."
