Kevin Stevens ’87 Set to be Inducted into U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

The former BC standout played 15 seasons in the NHL
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey has announced that former Boston College men's hockey standout Kevin Stevens '87 will be one of five inductees into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024.
A local product born in Brockton and raised in Pembroke, Stevens made an immediate impact for Boston College; racking up 20 points in his freshman campaign. In a four-year career that spanned from 1983-1987, he totaled 170 points on 71 goals and 99 assists in 158 games. A 1987 All-American and two-time captain, Stevens led the Eagles in scoring with 35 goals in his senior season. The Eagles made four NCAA Tournament appearances in his career and a Frozen Four in 1985. Stevens finished his career ranked seventh in points and ninth in assists.
As a professional, he played 15 seasons in the NHL, including 10 seasons with Pittsburgh, where he won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 1991 and 1992. He appeared in 874 games over the course of his career, totaling 726 points on 329 goals and 397 assists.
Stevens was inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2021. He currently serves as a special assignment scout in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization.
The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, which will feature the formal enshrinement of the Class of 2024, will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Pittsburgh. Additional details will be released by USA Hockey later this month.
