
Eagles Notch Three Top Five Finishes Across Four Races

BC Has Nine Top Five Finishes This Season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College sailing was back in action this past weekend, competing in four regattas and securing three top five finishes. The Eagles took 3rd and 4th of 20 boats in the George Warren Smith Trophy regatta, 5th of 18 boats in the BU invite, 8th of 17 in the first round of the Women's ACC's, and placed 4th of 20 boats in the Danmark Trophy regatta.Â
The Eagles started the weekend with the Smith Trophy Regatta hosted by MIT, where they had two teams race two boats. The Eagles 1 A division boat scored 60 points, while the B division boat scored 58 points, for a total of 118 points, placing 4th out of 20 teams. The Eagles 2 A division boat scored 72 points, while the B division boat scored 45 points, for a total of 117 points, which placed them 3rd out of 20 teams.
In the BU Invite, hosted by Boston University, saw the A division boat score 46 points, while the B division scored 35 points, for a combined 81 points and a 5th place finish out of 18 teams.
In Providence for the first round of the Women's ACC's, the Eagles scored a total of 149 points (A: 70, B: 79), which was good enough for 8th place of 17 teams.
To finish up the weekend, BC placed 4th of 20 teams in the Danmark Trophy regatta, scoring 135 points - 77 coming from the A division boat, and 58 coming from the B division boat.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Annapolis, Maryland and Brunswick, Maine this coming weekend for the first round of the Open ACC Championship and the Hewitt regatta.
