» Boston College football hosts Michigan State for the 11th Annual Red Bandanna Game during primetime from Alumni Stadium with an 8 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 21.
» BC honors Welles Crowther ’99 with its Red Bandanna Game. Crowther, who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, was credited with saving as many as a dozen lives in the Twin Towers.
» The Red Bandanna Game started in 2014 with a 37-31 win over No. 9 USC. BC is 4-5 all-time in Red Bandanna Games. The Eagles’ first Red Bandanna Game was the last against a non-conference opponent since Notre Dame was an ACC opponent in 2020.
» The game will be broadcast on ACC Network. Wes Durham (play-by-play) and Tom Luginbill (analyst) are on the call with sideline reporter Dana Boyle.
» Coverage on the Boston College Sports Network begins 30 minutes prior to kickoff on WEEI 93.7 FM. Jon Meterparel (play-by-play) is joined on the call by former BC linebacker Pete Cronan in the booth and quarterback Scott Mutryn on the sideline.
» BC is 40-48-2 all-time against teams currently in the Big Ten and 9-18 against teams in the Big Ten at the time of competition.
» Boston College and Michigan State have played six times with the Eagles holding a 4-1-1 lead in a series that began with an 18-6 BC win at home in 1935 on Alumni Field.
» In the last meeting, Matt Ryan and the Eagles took down Brian Hoyer and the Spartans, 24-21, in the 2007 Champs Sports Bowl.
