Eagles Surge Past Merrimack 5-1

A three goal first half lifts Eagles over Merrimack
NEWTON, Mass. - Boston College women's soccer defeated Merrimack 5-1 in the first-ever meeting between the two sides on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles came out early scoring four minutes into the first period, off a set-piece with Sarai Costello dishing the ball to Aislin Streicek who found the back of the net.
Merrimack tied the game up six minutes later on a free kick right outside the 18.
With 10 minutes left in the first half BC scored back-to-back goals, from Paige Pelter and Ashley Roberts recording their first goals at Boston College.
In the second period, Sydney Segalla scored back-to-back goals with a minute in between each goal. To give the Eagles a 5-1 victory over Merrimack.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET against Gardner-Webb at home.
