Eagles Set Program Record with 16 Hockey East All-Academic Honorees

Jacob Bengtsson was named a Top Scholar Athlete for having the highest GPA amongst defensemen
AMESBURY, Mass. – Boston College set a new program record with 16 men's student-athletes who were named to the 2023-24 Hockey East All-Academic team, as announced Tuesday by the league. The 16 honorees breaks the previous program record of 11 following the 2007-08 and 2022-23 seasons.
Each student-athlete who received the honor achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing.
Defenseman Jacob Bengtsson was recognized as a Top Scholar Athlete, having the highest GPA in the league for defenders.
Forward Jamie Armstrong is one of 11 student-athletes in Hockey East to earn the distinction for a fifth-time. Forwards Mike Posma and Gentry Shamburger appeared on the All-Academic team for the third time while defenseman Eamon Powell and forward Will Traeger earn spots for the second time.
