Women's Sailing Earns Second Place at ICSA Fleet Race National Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Women's Sailing team finished second overall at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship over the span of May 20-23 in Cambridge, Mass. Â

Boston College placed second overall at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship with a total of 233 points over the course of the four-day regatta. The National Championship Regatta was hosted by Harvard and MIT, and it took place May 20-23 with the Eagles going up against the top teams in the country.Â
SemifinalsÂ
The Eagles started the Women's Fleet Race National Championship Regatta on May 20 and 21 with the Semifinal round. Boston College finished second overall, earning 154 points. The A division team combined for 90 points, while also finishing with 15 top-ten finishes out of the 17 races. The group also earned two first-place finishes. The B division team combined for 64 points, while having 12 top-five finishes and four first-place finishes. Boston College's second place finish in the semifinals clinched the Eagles a spot in the Women's Fleet Race Finals.Â
FinalsÂ
Boston College kept their momentum going into the final two days of the National Championship regatta. The Eagles A division team compiled 155 points, while the B division team earned a division best 78 points. Â
Boston College finished the National Championship regatta in second place with a total of 233 points. Â
Stanford won the National Championship with 207 Points, while Dartmouth, Yale, and Brown rounded out the top-five.Â
