Sailing Finishes Top-Five at Mystic Lake Team Race

Boston College finishes top-five at Mystic Lake Team Race, while also competing at NEISA Conf. Champs.
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team finished fourth overall at the Mystic Lake Team Race, while also competing at the NEISA Open Team Race Championship over the weekend of April 6-7.
Mystic Lake Team Race
Boston College earned fourth place overall at the Mystic Lake Team Race with a 12-9 record over the course of the two-day regatta. The meet was hosted by Tufts, and it took place Apr. 6-7 with the Eagles going up against Brown, Roger Williams, Tufts, BU, Rhode Island, Tufts, and MIT.
The Eagles started the regatta off strong with a 5-2 record in round one. Boston College earned victories over BU, MIT, Rhode Island, and two against Tufts. The Eagles secured a 1-2-3 finish against MIT.
Boston College would drop the first three races in round two, before earning a victory against Rhode Island. After a loss to Roger Williams, the Eagles would close out round two with two straight victories against Tufts to end the round with a 3-4 record.
In round three, the Eagles would start with three straight losses again. Boston College would bounce back strongly after, ultimately finishing the round with four straight wins over Rhode Island, BU, and two against Tufts.
The Eagles would finish the regatta in fourth place out of eight teams with a record of 12-9. Brown won the regatta with their 18-3 record overall.
Boston College was led by Skippers Ian Hopkins Guerra, Griffin Gigliotti, and Nick Budington, who were joined by a Crew of Emily Marlas, Damien Bocan, and Kennedy Laureigh.

NEISA Open Team Race Championship
The Eagles finished tied for seventh overall at the NEISA Open Team Race Championship with a record of 8-10. The meet was hosted by Brown on April 6-7, and the Eagles were joined by Yale, Harvard, Brown, Roger Williams, MIT, Dartmouth, U.S. Coast Guard, Tufts, Rhode Island, Bowdoin, and Connecticut College.
Boston College started off the two-day conference championship regatta with a 5-6 record. The Eagles secured victories over Bowdoin, Connecticut College, U.S. Coast Guard, MIT, and Tufts.
The Eagles earned a spot into the next round, which was the top-8 section of the championship regatta. Boston College was joined by Yale, Harvard, Roger Williams, Brown, Dartmouth, U.S. Coast Guard, and MIT. The Eagles would compile a 3-4 record, ultimately falling short of qualifying for round three which was top-6 action.
Overall, Boston College finished tied for seventh with a 8-10 record, while Yale won the regatta with their 17-6 record.
Boston College was led by Skippers Peter Busch, Jack Redmond, Peter Joslin, Colleen O'Brien, and Michael Kirkman, who were joined by a Crew of Sara Schumann, Jack Redmond, Michaela O'Brien, Lily Ornstein, Libby Redmond, Matt Budington, and Chip Kreuzkamp.
