Beanpot Final on deck Tuesday at home vs. Northeastern
BRIGHTON, Mass. — Boston College Baseball (17-13, 6-9) dropped game three of their weekend series, 9-2 to No. 14 Florida State (26-5, 7-5). The Eagles finish the weekend 1-2, taking game two on a walk-off home run from Cameron Leary on Saturday.
Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) brought first-inning juice out of the leadoff spot once again, roping a double off the wall in the Eagles' first at-bat of the game. Roche came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Kyle Wolff (Andover, Mass.), giving the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. Wolff finished 2-for-2 with an RBI.
A.J. Colarusso (Leominster, Mass.) started for the Eagles and opened with four no-hit innings, with the Seminoles breaking through in the fifth with a trio of singles to tie the game. Colarusso was issued the loss (3-3), but once again turned in six strong innings of work. BC regained the lead in the sixth, with Adam Magpoc (Torrance, Ca.) earning an RBI on a bases-loaded HBP. Florida State answered with five in the seventh and three in the eighth to take a 9-2 lead, which would hold.
The Eagles will go back to work this Tuesday in the 2024 Beanpot Final, hosting Northeastern at 5:00 p.m.
