April 02, 2024 | Football
The Eagles returned from Easter break on Tuesday.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College football held its 10th practice of spring ball inside Fish Field House on Tuesday morning. The Eagles, who have a five-day layoff due to Easter Weekend, got back into the swing of things with individual work, 7-on-7 sessions and live team periods, featuring plenty of tempo offense.
THE OFFENSE
● Running back Treshaun Ward rattled off a big gain up the middle in one of the first plays.
● Grayson James completed a swing pass to Dino Tomlin, who accelerated up the sideline for a touchdown.
● Thomas Castellanos and wide receiver Lewis Bond connected on several occasions, including a fantastic tip-drill catch on a deep ball thrown just beyond the grab of the corner to the five. Bond made the catch, maintained his balance and brushed the pylon for the score.
● Running backs Datrell Jones and Jordan McDonald moved the chains on back-to-back plays with Jones bursting up the sideline and McDonald catching a pass out of the backfield.
● Jones added a touchdown run off left tackle in red zone work on a hole created by Jude Bowry and tight end Matt Ragan.
THE DEFENSE
● The defensive line forced pressure in the backfield and edge Neto Okpala recovered a fumble.
● Safety K.P. Price made a leaping PBU over the middle. Price later added a second PBU, timing a hit on the receiver in the red zone.
● Amari Jackson showcased his quickness, reacting to a quick slant and knocking the ball away from the receiver. Jackson also broke up a potential touchdown pass in the end zone.
● Defensive back Brycquice Brown picked up two PBUs; one in the second team session on a deep ball and again on a diving knockdown in 7-on-7.
● Defensive tackle George Rooks won constantly disrupting plays, including a run in the backfield on a no-huddle play.
● In red zone, fellow defensive tackle Cam Horsley stuffed the run twice in the backfield.
