The Eagles will take on #10 UConn on Wednesday night at Toscano Family Ice Forum

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The fourth-seeded Boston College women's hockey team will take on top-seeded Connecticut on Wednesday night in the Hockey East Tournament semifinal.

Puck drop between Boston College and #10 Northeastern is slated for 6 p.m. at Matthews Arena. The contest will air on NESN.

The championship game will be held on Saturday, March 9 to determine the winner of the Bertagna Trophy.

Boston College and UConn will meet in the Hockey East Tournament semifinal round on Wednesday night at Toscano Family Ice Forum ... the two sides have met five times in the last six years.
The Eagles won all three regular-season meetings this season, in the last meeting went to a shootout with BC
The Eagles advanced to the program's 15th semifinal by way of a 2-1 overtime win over Providence while the Huskies earned a berth after topping Holy Cross, 4-2.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE

Boston College enters Wednesday night at 15-13-7 overall.
The Eagles earned a 2-1 overtime win against Providence in Friday's quarterfinal round, with Kate Ham scoring the game-tying goal in the third period and Sammy Taber with the game-winning goal in overtime while Gace Campbell made 47 saves.
Sammy Taber leads the Eagles in points (31), goals (13) and assists (18) ... Sammy Smigliani(11-15-26) is second on the team in scoring... Gaby Roy (10-12-22), Julia Pellerin (12-7-19), Katie Pyne(12-7-19), Caroline Goffredo (8-10-18), Molly Jordan (4-14-18), Sidney Fess (4-11-15) and Jade Arnone (4-8-12) have all hit double-digit points for the Eagles.
Smigliani is second in Hockey East and 17th in the nation with 388 face-off wins.
Levy sits at 15-13-7 on the year with a 2.45 goals against average, a .922 save percentage and three shutouts.
BC's penalty kill rate of 82 percent ranks fifth in Hockey East.

ABOUT CONNECTICUT

UConn holds an overall mark of 23-7-5 … in the last 10 games, the Huskies are 6-1-3 with their one loss coming from Vermont.
Jada Hasbisch leads UConn in scoring, putting up 16 goals while being credited with 11 assists for 27 points.
Tia Chan is 11-6-4 in between the pipes while posting a .945 save percentage and 1.46 goals against average.
Northeastern sports a 91 penalty-killing percentage, the third-best mark in Hockey East, while converting on 23.9 percent of power plays, good for ninth in the country.

SERIES HISTORY VS UCONN

The Eagles lead the all-time series between the teams, 47-25-11 ... BC has a mark of 27-13-2 against the Huskies at Kelley Rink ... BC is 18-11-9 against UConn in Storrs and 2-1-0 in neutral site meetings.
In 2023-24, the Eagles swept a home-and-home series in October, 4-3 at Kelley Rink and 2-1 in Storrs, and tied 2-2 with the Eagles picking up the shootout win in December.
These two teams met in the 2018 Hockey East Tournament semifinal game, with UConn winning 4-2 to snap a 14-game BC unbeaten streak in the series.
