Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ Race in Grand Final
SARASOTA, Fla.-- The Boston College women's rowing team traveled to Florida for the Sunshine State Invitational this weekend. The competition, held on Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. featured more than 30 teams both men's and women's.
The Varsity 8+ highlighted the Eagle's finishes on the day, placing fifth in the Grand Final defeating ACC competitors UNC by 2.76 seconds. Behind Miami with a winning time of 6:33.69.
The Eagles Second Varsity 8+ had a seventh-place finish in the grand final, crossing the line with a time of 6:51.18. The team held off eighth-place Louisville by one second, but were edged by sixth-place Kansas by .50 seconds.Â
The Varsity 4+ finished third in the petite final, crossing the line with a time of 7:34.67. The team held off fourth place Tulsa by one second, but fell to Drexel and Kansas.Â
