Cameron Leary's Historic Grand Slam Powers Eagles Past Huskies

Kyle Kipp earns first collegiate win in midweek road victory
The Eagles broke the scoring in the second inning, with Adam Magpoc (Torrance, Ca.) and Owen DeShazo (Glen Allen, Va.) executing a perfect squeeze play, with DeShazo's bunt bringing Magpoc in from third.
The Huskies pulled two back in the bottom of the frame, but in the fourth inning, Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.) put BC up for good on a two-out grand slam. Leary's eighth homer of the year is his 36th in his BC career, good for third-most home runs in program history.
BC held a 5-4 lead going into the ninth, supported by eight strong innings of bullpen work, allowing just two runs over the final seven innings, including four shutout frames to end it.
The Eagles brought two more across on a fielding error in the bottom of the ninth, extending their lead to 7-4, which would hold. Eric Schroeder (Ridgewood, N.J.) earned the two-inning save (1), allowing just one hit over the final two frames.
Kyle Kipp (Stamford, Ct.) took home the first win of his college career (1-0), tossing 2.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just two hits. Gavin Hasche (Parker, Co.), Charlie Coon (Duxbury, Mass.), Aidan Crowley (Shoreham, N.Y.), and Jordan Fisse (Ridgewood, N.J.) all turned in strong outings in relief, combining for three no-hit innings.
The Eagles will resume ACC play this Thursday with a road series at Georgia Tech.
