Boston College Competes in Two Regattas Over Weekend

The Eagles earn second place at Duplin Trophy, while also competing at Jan Friis Team Race
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team earned a second place finish at the Duplin Trophy, while also competing at the Jan Friis Team Race over the weekend of Mar. 23-24.
Duplin Trophy
Boston College earned a second place finish at the Duplin Trophy with a 8-4 record over the course of the two-day regatta. The meet was hosted by Harvard, and it took place Mar. 23-24 with the Eagles going up against Yale, Harvard, MIT, Tulane, Tufts, Brown, Bowdoin, South Florida, Rhode Island.
The Eagles started off the regatta with a 7-2 in record in round 1. Boston College earned five straight victories over Bowdoin, Brown, Harvard, MIT and Tufts, including 1-2-3 finishes against Bowdoin and Tufts. The Eagles finished the regatta with a 1-2 record in the gold round 2, defeating Harvard with a 2-3-4 finish.
Boston College was led by Skippers Colleen O'Brien, Michaela O'Brien, and Caroline Sibilly, joined by a Crew of Libby Redmond, Sophia Hacket, and Katelyn McGauley.

Jan Friis Team Race
The Eagles placed ninth overall at the Jan Friis Team Race with a record of 3-6. The meet was hosted by Roger Williams on Mar. 23-24, and the Eagles were joined by Roger Williams, Yale, Tufts, Harvard, Coast Guard, MIT, Brown, Stanford, and Rhode Island.
Boston College opened the regatta with a 1-3-6 finish and victory over Harvard. The Eagles finished off the regatta with two straight victories over Tufts and Rhode Island. Boston College earned a 1-4-5 finish against tufts, while also earning a 2-3-4 finish versus Rhode Island.
Boston College was led by Skippers Peter Busch, Peter Joslin, and Michael Kirkman, who were joined by a Crew of Chip Kreuzkamp, Jack Redmond, Lourdes Gallo, Sara Schumann, and Matt Budington.
