Boston College Sailing collects victories at Geiger Trophy and Women's Southern New England Team Race
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team earned two wins at the Geiger Team Race and the Women's Southern New England Team Race on the weekend of Mar. 16-17, while also at the Southern New England Team Race.
Geiger Team Race
Boston College earned first place at the Geiger Team Race with a 14-3 record over the course of the two-day regatta. The meet was hosted by MIT, and it took place Mar. 16-17 with the Eagles going up against Boston University, Roger Williams, Brown, MIT, Coast Guard, Vermont, and Salve Regina.
The Eagles started off round one of the regatta with a 5-2 record. Boston College earned victories over BU, Coast Guard, MIT, Salve Regina, and Vermont, including 1-2-3 finishes against BU and Vermont. The Eagles went on to earn a perfect 7-0 record in round two to improve their overall record to 12-2 through the first two rounds. Boston College went on to finish the meet with a 2-1 record in the last three races, bringing their record to 14-3 which was good for first overall.
Boston College was led by Skippers Jack Redmond, Nick Budington, Ian Hopkins Guerra, and Ryan McGauley, joined by a Crew of Grace Beneke, Matt Budington, Emily Marlas, and Kennedy Laureigh.

Women's Southern New England Team Race
The Eagles earned their second victory of the weekend at the Women's Southern New England Team Race with a perfect record of 12-0. The meet was hosted by Connecticut College on Mar. 16-17, and the Eagles were joined by Brown, Coast Guard, MIT, and Rhode Island.
Boston College went 4-0 in rounds one through three with 1-2-3 finishes against the Coast Guard, Rhode Island, and MIT.
Boston College was led by Skippers Caroline Sibilly, Colleen O'Brien, and Michaela O'Brien, who were joined by a Crew of Libby Redmond, Katelyn McGauley, and Sophia Hacket.

Southern New England Team Race
The Eagles placed third overall at the Southern New England Team Race with a record of 12-6 over the two days. The meet was hosted by Connecticut College on Mar. 16-17, and the Eagles were joined by Roger Williams, Coast Guard, MIT, Rhode Island, Brown, and Connecticut College.
Boston College went 3-3 in round one, and earned victories over Connecticut College, MIT, and Brown. The Eagles shined in round two, finishing with a 5-1 record. BC had four straight victories against Rhode Island, Coast Guard, MIT, and Connecticut College. The Eagles finished the regattas with a 4-2 record in round three, and earned a 1-2-3 finish against Brown.
Roger Williams (15-3) and Coast Guard (14-4) round out the top-three finishers at the regatta.
Boston College was led by Skippers Peter Joslin, Michael Kirkman, and Peter Busch, who were joined by a Crew of Sara Schumann, Lily Ornstein, and Lourdes Gallo.
