Eagles Fly South for Tar Heel Duals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Boston College Fencing continues their road stint as they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the Tar Heel Duals on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Eddie Smith Field House on the campus of University of North Carolina.

LAST TIME OUT

The Eagles traveled to Evanston, Ill. to compete in the Northwestern Duals on Feb. 3 and 4 at Northwestern University.

The meet was over the span of two days, with there being eight rounds on Saturday and six on Sunday. Boston College Men's and Women's teams both competed in five of eight rounds on Saturday, while the Men's team competed in five rounds on Sunday and the Women's team competed in all six. The Eagles were joined by some of the top teams in the country, including the No. 1 ranked Notre Dame Men's team.

Key Moments and Stats

The Men's team finished day one with a perfect record of 5-0, including a 17-10 win over No. 1 ranked Notre Dame in round 3.
The Women's team compiled a 3-2 record on Saturday, including a 27-0 victory against LU and a 23-4 victory over UIW
Men's Foil and Men's and Women's Sabre led the way for the Eagles on Saturday, all finishing with 4-1 records.
The Men's and Women's teams both finished the final day of the invitational with four wins, as the Men's team compiled a 4-1 record and the Women's team ended the day with a 4-2 record.
Men's Sabre finished day two with a 5-0 record, while Women's Foil and Epee both ended with 4-2 records.
The Eagles finished the Northwestern Duals meet with a combined record of 16-5, including a 9-1 Men's record.

TAR HEEL DUALS

The Eagles will travel to the University of North Carolina to compete in the Tar Heel Duals Invitational. Boston College will be joined by UNC, NYU, LIU, NU, and Temple. The meet is scheduled to begin with round one at 8:00 a.m. The meet will consist of five rounds, with BC Men's team competing in three and the Women's team competing in all five rounds.
