Omar Thornton inks National Letter of Intent on February signing day.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College football team rounded out its 2024 signing class with the addition of Omar Thornton, signing his National Letter of Intent during the February signing period on Wednesday. The Eagles previously signed 12 individuals during December's early signing period and added another nine players through the transfer portal.
Thornton, an outside linebacker, is rated as a three-star prospect by On3, 247 Sports and ESPN. He ranks as the No. 75 linebacker in his class by ESPN.
The Broward County, Fla. native played hi high school ball at American Heritage. As a senior, Thornton was named the 2M-1M Defensive Player of the Year by the Miami Herald. He totaled 81 tackles, 14 TFLs, eight sacks and two interceptions. He played both inside and outside linebacker, while occasionally dropping back to play safety.
