Flanigan Earns Third in Giant Slalom at Harvard Carnival

BURKE, Vt. – After an unexpected week off from competition due to the postponement of the UVM Carnival, the Eagles returned to action in the Harvard Carnival this weekend.
Bode Flanigan shined in the men's giant slalom, placing third overall at 2:05.35. This time puts Flanigan in a strong position to qualify for the NCAA Nationals. Nick Kirwood and Matthew Smallhouse followed shortly after, scoring times of 2:07.93 and 2:08.15 respectively. Ryan Bianchi was the final Eagle to complete the event, tallying a 2:11.43 time for 50th place. Bianchi and Smallhouse also scored top-30 placements in the slalom, finishing 21st (1:27.52) and 25th (1:28.58) respectively.
Chiara Ferrari led the way in the women's giant slalom, clocking in at 2:18.25 for a 30th-place finish. Jasmine Whittaker secured 37th place with a time of 2:25.13. Morgan Ellis scored the highest placement of the weekend on the women's side, earning a 23rd-place finish with a time of 1:33.70. Whittaker and Ferrari finished shortly after, placing 41st (1:38.38) and 44th (1:40.86) respectively.
