
Eagles Split Weekend in West Point After 3-4 Heartbreaker

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Boston College (2-2, 0-0 ACC) split its weekend trip to West Point, dropping a 3-4 heartbreaker to Furman University (5-4, 0-0 SoCon).
The Eagles struck first, earning the doubles point after taking two of three matches. Despite the Paladins securing the No. 2 doubles match 6-2, Juan Jose Bianchi and Jake Vassel would answer with a 6-3 victory followed by a 6-4 win from Bennett Turner and Mai Gao.
Bianchi carried his momentum into singles competition, claiming the No. 1 singles match 6-1 6-1. Connor McDonald scored next for BC, taking a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory to extend the lead 3-1. Furman would take the last three singles matches, including the final two matches at the No. 4 and No. 5 that forced extra sets.
