February 14, 2024 | Men's Tennis
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Eagles (2-3, 0-1 ACC) were unable to claim victory in their first ACC matchup of the season, falling to No. 22 Florida State (7-2, 1-0 ACC) in a 7-0 affair.
The No. 15 doubles team of Juan Jose Bianchi and Jake Vassel had their four-game win streak snapped on Wednesday, surrendering a 6-4 defeat to the No. 39 duo in the country. Boston College dropped the doubles point after Florida State's No. 43 doubles team in the nation took a 6-3 victory. Will Kasten and Bennett Turner were locked in a 5-5 battle in the third match. However, with the doubles point already decided, the match ended early.
BC fought valiantly in singles competition, with Vassel and Kasten both forcing third sets. The Eagles were unable to gain momentum in first-set action, which made it difficult to rebound in the following sets.
