
6-1 Victory Puts Eagles Back on Track

WALPOLE, Mass. – The Boston College men's tennis team (3-3, 0-1 ACC) got back into the win column on Friday night, besting Assumption University (4-5, 0-4 NE10) in a dominant 6-1 showing.
The Eagles came out of the gates rolling, taking victories in all three doubles matches. Will Kasten and Bennett Turner put together a flawless outing, sweeping Assumption's No. 2 doubles team 6-0. The freshmen pair of Matthew Overvelde and Andrew Solarewicz took victory in their first doubles match of the spring season, securing a 6-2 win.
Boston College carried its momentum into singles competition, with Caleb Saltz (6-1, 6-3), Mai Gao (6-2, 6-0), Kasten (6-0, 6-2), and Davis McDonald (6-0, 6-2) each winning in straight sets to clinch the match.
After dropping the first set 6-1, Matt Campbell followed up the slow start with 7-6 and 10-8 wins to complete an impressive comeback. Solarewicz also found himself in a third-set scenario after trading 6-4, 4-6 sets, falling just short 10-7.

The Eagles return to action next Friday, Feb. 23 when they host Southern New Hampshire University at 7:00 p.m. in Walpole, Mass.
