
Eagles Set to Face Friars in Hockey East Tournament Quarterfinal

For only the second time, BC and Providence will clash at Kelley Rink in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal round
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – For the second time ever, the Boston College Eagles will face the Providence Friars in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal round.
The single elimination game between the fourth-seeded Eagles and the fifth-seeded Friars is set for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Kelley Rink. The contest will air live on NESN.
Semifinals will take place on Wednesday, March 6 and the championship game will be held on Saturday, March 9, to determine the winner of the Bertagna Trophy.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
• Boston College and Providence will meet in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal round on Friday at Kelley Rink ... this is the second time that the Eagles and Friars will clash in the quarterfinal round.

- Boston College finished the regular season at 14-13-7 overall and went 13-9-5 in Hockey East play to clinch home ice through the quarterfinal round.

- Rachel Weiss leads Providence in points with 19 off of five goals and a team-high 14 assists … Audrey Knapp has a team-leading 13 goals and has added four assists for 17 points.
- Hope Walinski has started 25 games between the pipes, going 11-10-4 with a .915 save percentage, 2.07 goals against average and four shutouts.

- The Eagles lead the all-time series between the teams, 44-43-4 ... BC has a mark of 23-20-3 against the Friars at Kelley Rink ... BC is 18-21-1 against the Friars in Providence.
- In 2023-24, the Huskies split a home-and-home series in January, a 1-1 tie with BC winning the shootout in Providence and a 3-1 loss at Kelley Rink, and then won another 5-1 game at Providence in December.
