Bianchi/Vassel, Jayasundera/Saltz each win second-straight ACC doubles match
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Boston College (4-5, 0-3 ACC) was unable to carry its success from doubles action into singles competition, falling 6-1 against Miami (8-3, 1-0 ACC) on Wednesday.
Anesh Jayasundera and Caleb Saltz claimed victory in their second-straight ACC doubles matchup, tying the series at 1-1 with a 7-6 win. Juan Jose Bianchi and Jake Vassel also claimed back-to-back conference doubles matches, taking their set 7-6 to claim the doubles point.
The Eagles' momentum halted in singles action as BC surrendered four consecutive matches in straight sets. Saltz and Vassel both rallied in their respective matches to force a third set but ultimately fell short 6-3 and 6-0.
