
Eagles Suffer Setback at Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Boston College women's basketball fell to Florida State 84-71 on Thursday evening in the Donald Tucker Civic Center.
The Eagles fall to 11-17 and 3-12 in the league, while FSU improves to 20-8 and 11-5.Â
Teya Sidberry scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting with nine rebounds, two steals, and a pair of assists. T'yana Todd scored 17 with a personal-high nine off the glass and dished out four helpers with two swipes.Â
Andrea Daley pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds with six points and Kaylah Ivey dished out seven assists with six points.Â
Both offenses started slow out of the gate, shooting under 30 percent from the floor. Layups by Waggoner and Lacey gave BC a 9-8 edge late in the opening period before FSU hit five straight shots to go into the second with a 19-12 lead.Â
The Seminoles stayed in front by growing their lead to as large as 38-23 with just under minutes left in the half. Todd's trifecta sliced the lead to 11 at the break, 41-30.Â
Back-to-back field goals by Sidberry and Waggoner brought the deficit to single digits, 41-34. However, the Seminoles grew the lead back to double digits for the rest of the third. BC's offense improved in the third, shooting 55.6 percent, but the FSU offense shot over 50 percent.Â
The Eagles got to within eight after a 6-0 spurt in the final period. It was the closest BC would get, as a 10-0 run got the hosts' lead back up to double digits to pull away.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday against No. 19/18 Notre Dame at 12 p.m. inside Conte Forum.Â
