ITHACA, N.Y. – The Eagles (4-3, 0-1 ACC) bounced back from a two-game skid with a victory over Cornell University (2-5, 0-0 IVY) on Sunday morning, taking the match in a 4-3 thriller.
After dropping the doubles point, Boston College responded with Natalie Eordekian (6-1, 6-3) and Seren Agar (7-5, 6-3) taking the first singles points in straight sets. Cornell would even the score at 2-2 after taking the no. 5 singles match 6-4, 7-6 [7-5].
Marice Aguiar temporarily took the lead back for BC after securing victory in the no. 1 singles match 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. However, Cornell answered after Tola Glowacka's comeback effort fell just short 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to knot the game at 3-3 going into the final singles match.
Muskan Mahajan took the first set 6-4 in the deciding match against Cornell's Jenny Wong. Wong forced a third and final set after tying the match with a 6-3 victory in the second set. With the entire match on the line, Mahajan would clinch the win for the Eagles, besting Wong in a 6-3 final set.
