BC Drops ACC Season Opener to Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Boston College women's tennis team (3-3, 0-1 ACC) fell short in its first ACC season opener, dropping a 5-2 loss to Syracuse (5-1, 1-0 ACC) on Saturday morning.
The Eagles struck first in doubles competition, with Seren Agar and Stephanie Sanchez taking a 6-3 victory to allow BC the opportunity to clinch the doubles point. Marice Aguiar and Tola Glowacka sealed the deal with a 6-4 win to take an early lead on the day.
After Syracuse took the No. 2 singles match, Aguiar carried her momentum from doubles action by claiming a 6-2, 6-0 victory as the Eagles went up 2-1.
Boston College would surrender the next three singles matches, with Natalie Eordekian and Seren Agar putting together valiant efforts before Syracuse clinched the match.
After dropping the first set 6-4, Muskan Mahajan would force a third set with a 7-5 win in set two. With the game already decided, Mahajan would fall just short in the third set 5-2.

The Eagles will stay in New York tomorrow to take on Cornell University at 10:00 a.m.
