Balanced Attack Drives Eagles Past Louisville, 89-77

Six players scored in double figures for the Eagles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College defeated Louisville, 89-77, on Tuesday night at Conte Forum in the 17th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Eagles improved to 14-10 on the season and 5-8 in ACC play. Junior Claudell Harris Jr. led the way for the Eagles with 20 points, knocking down four three-pointers in the win. Graduate student Quinten Post finished with 17 points, six boards, and a career-high six blocks.
FIRST HALF:
● Post put the Eagles on the board first.
● There were seven lead changes in the first eight minutes of action. BC trailed by three, 19-16 with 12 minutes left in the half.
● At the 10:35 mark, Post finished in the paint to halt a 9-0 scoring run by the Cardinals. The Eagles trailed 24-18.
● Boston College found a spark with a 7-0 surge midway through the half, narrowing the gap to one. Post (14 first half points) reached double figures during the run.
● With just under five minutes until halftime, Devin McGlockton drained a triple from the left corner. BC had made six of their last eight shot attempts. The game was knotted at 32.
● Louisville made a push on offense late in the first half. BC trailed 47-39 at halftime.
● Boston College shot 16-30 (53.3%) from the field, 4-12 (33.3%) from three-point range and 3-3 (100%) from the free throw line in the first half.
● Louisville shot 19-37 (51.4%) from the field, 4-9 (44.4%) from three-point range and 5-6 (83.3%) from the free throw line in the first half.
SECOND HALF:
● Mason Madsen opened up the half with a three-pointer. BC made six of their first seven shots.
● With less than 16 minutes left to play, Harris and Post made back-to-back three-balls to tie the game at 54.
● The Eagles were firing on all cylinders as the second half rolled on. A substantial 20-1 run gave BC a 68-55 lead with 10:34 remaining.
● McGlockton and Donald Hand Jr. powered the BC offense during the overall 30-7 scoring streak in the second half.
● Heading into the final four minutes of action, the Eagles' lead had fallen back to single-digits after a short drought. BC led 79-72.
● At the 2:33 mark, Madsen hit his second three-pointer of the game to extend the Eagles' lead to 11 points, 84-73.
● Boston College shot 18-30 (60.0%) from the field, 7-11 (63.6%) from three-point range and 7-10 (70.0%) from the free throw line in the second half.
● Louisville shot 11-27 (40.7%) from the field, 1-6 (16.7%) from three-point range and 7-13 (53.8%) from the free throw line in the second half.

● Six players finished in double figures for the Eagles in Harris (20), McGlockton (19), Post (17), Madsen (11), Hand (10), and Jaeden Zackery (10).
● Post finished with a career-high six blocks.

● Jaeden Zackery tied a season-high four steals in the game.
