
Eagles Upended at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Boston College women's basketball suffered a 75-64 loss to Arkansas on Thursday evening in Bud Walton Arena
The Eagles fall to 6-4 on the season and Arkansas improves to 5-5.
Teya Sidberry registered a team-best 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting with a career and game-high 13 rebounds (nine offensive).
Dontavia Waggoner hit the 1,000-point milestone for her career, tallying 15 points with seven off the glass. Andrea Daley rounded out the leading scorers with 13 points (10 in the second half) and seven rebounds.
Backed by three trifectas from T'yana Todd in the opening quarter, the Eagles hit four of their seven field goals from beyond the arc, leading to an 18-12 edge at the end of the first following a Savannah Samuel Jumper at the buzzer.
Arkansas sliced the gap with an 11-4 run to take a 23-22 lead, while neither team held a lead by more than three the rest of the half, leading to the one-point lead for the visitors at the break.
Todd and Sidberry led the scoring charge, combining for 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor.
A 13-6 run to begin the third period and five straight field goals pushed BC to a 46-40 advantage. Arkansas cut the lead in half going into the final frame, giving the Eagles a 53-50 lead going into the fourth.
The Razorbacks pulled away in the final period, hitting seven of their 11 shot attempts, outscoring the Eagles by 14 to capture the win. The Razorbacks outscored BC by 19 at the charity strip and shot 48 percent.
BC grabbed 24 offensive rebounds - the most since the 2018-19 season.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday against Virginia in the ACC opener at 2 p.m. in Charlottesville.
