Leonard, Fowler Earn Hockey East Weekly Awards

Leonard and Fowler played key roles in a weekend sweep of No. 5 Maine

AMESBURY, Mass. – Sophomores Ryan Leonard and Jacob Fowler were named recipients of Hockey East weekly awards following BC's weekend sweep over No. 5 Maine.

Leonard was named the Player of the Week award while Fowler was named the Stop It Goaltending Co-Goaltender of the Week.

Leonard tallied the game-winning goals in the two victories over the Black Bears this past weekend. The Amherst native scored the winner on Friday with 1:33 remaining to complete the comeback and followed that up with the game-winner in the second period of Sunday's game.

Fowler picked up two wins over the weekend, posting a 30-save performance in Friday's victory along with a 26-save shutout, his third of the season, in Sunday's 3-0 triumph.

The Eagles currently sit at No. 2 in this week's USCHO.com and USA Hockey / The Rink Live polls.

BC travels to UConn on Friday to take on the Huskies in Hockey East play. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
