Women's Soccer Defeats Syracuse 3-1

BC defeated Syracuse 3-1 in the regular season finale.
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The Boston College Women's Soccer team defeated Syracuse 3-1 in the regular season finale on Thursday evening.
BC ends the season with an overall record of 12-5-2 and a 4-4-2 league record while Syracuse ends the season 6-10-2 overall and 0-9-1 in the ACC.
Ella Richards led the Eagles with five shot attempts while landing two shots on target.
Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt played all 90 minutes, finishing the game with 25 shots faced and nine saves.
Syracuse landed the first goal a minute into the game earning the early 1-0 advantage.
Aislin Streicek opened the scoring for the Eagles to tie the game 1-1 in the 10th minute off of a pass from Emily Sapienza and Ella Richards. The senior's seventh goal of the season beat the diving goalkeeper in the box.
Baylor Goldthwaite gave the Eagles lead in the 29th minute as she took a cross from Paige Peltier and finished it home inside the right post. Goldthwaite's first-half goal earned her her first collegiate goal. BC held a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
The Eagles added their third and final goal of the day in the 74th minute when Richard's shot from the top box reached the top left corner of the net.
Richards led the Eagles on the day with three points, finishing with a goal and an assist.
BC will find out their postseason fate on Monday, Nov. 11 during the NCAA selection show.
