DURHAM, N.C. - No. 9 Boston College field hockey (11-4, 5-1 ACC) fell to No. 10 Duke University (11-4, 6-1 ACC) by a score of 1-0 on Friday evening.
The lone goal for the Blue Devils came two minutes into the second half, as Logan Clouser fired a shot from just inside the circle, which was redirected into the back of the net by Alaina McVeigh.
The Blue Devils had the edge in shots (10-6) and shots on goal (5-2), while Charlotte Kramer notched four saves to Frederique Wollaert's two. Both teams attempted four penalty corners.
Up next: The Eagles are back in action on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Chapel Hill as they take on the Tar Heels of the University of North Carolina (13-0, 6-0 ACC). The game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network.
