
Eagles Take First in Oberg Trophy Regatta

BC has three victories and 17 top-five finishes this season
BOSTON, Mass. - Boston College sailing was back in action this weekend, sailing in three races and securing their third first place finish this season. The Eagles finished first of 18 boats in the Oberg Trophy regatta, second of six boats in the Franklin Lane Trophy regatta, and eighth of 18 boats in the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Final. All three regattas were raced in Boston.
BC started the weekend hosting the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Final, where they raced two boats. The A division boat scored 88 points, while the B division boat scored 40 points, for a total of 128 points and an eighth place finish.
In the Oberg Trophy regatta, hosted by Northeastern University, the Eagles raced three boats. The A division boat scored 45 points, while the B boat scored 25 points, and the C division boat scored 33. In total, the Eagles scored 103 points, which was good enough for a first place finish.
To round out the Weekend, the Eagles raced in the Franklin Lane Trophy Team Race regatta where they secured second place, winning four of the five races.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Providence, R.I. for the urn Trophy regatta and New Haven, Conn. for the Schell Trophy regatta, before competing in the Nickerson Trophy regatta in Medford, Mass.
