Eagles Continue Road Trip at Boston University on Friday
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 17 Boston College (2-2, 0-0) fell short in their ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup against Maryland (4-1) this Sunday afternoon, dropping the contest 1-0 in overtime.
The Eagles were able to hold a red-hot Maryland offense, which had tallied 16 goals across their previous four games, scoreless in regulation. Caroline Kelly faced 11 shots in the first 60 minutes of play, saving all seven on goal. Competing in its second overtime match of the weekend, BC ultimately couldn't hang on as the Terps converted a penalty corner under two minutes into extra time. Maryland held a 13-8 shot advantage over Boston College, including a 9-3 shots on goal differential.
The Eagles are back in action next weekend when they take on Boston University on Friday at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Sunday matchup against Northeastern at noon.
