
Four Eagles Selected in Inaugural PHWL Draft.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Four Boston College women's hockey players were drafted in the inaugural Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) 2023 draft.
Abbey Levy was selected 14th by New York, while Kali Flanagan was the 35th pick by Toronto. Megan Keller and Alex Carpenter signed with Boston and New York, respectfully.
Levy ('23) finished her three-year Boston College career with the program record for save percentage (.940) and saves per game (31.96). She left the Heights in the top five in multiple other goaltending categories: fourth in wins (40), fourth in shutouts (8), fourth in goals against average (2.10), and fifth in saves (2,397). Her .947 save percentage in 2022-23 set the single-season program record. The newly-drafted goalie closed her collegiate career with 54 wins, 3,937 saves, 16 shutouts, and a .931 save percentage.
Flanagan ('19) earned a spot on the 2018 U.S. Olympic Team and won a gold medal at the PyeongChang Games. She tied for the most games played in program history (157) while closing her career ranked in the top 10 in the Eagles' career defender scoring list - seventh in points (72), seventh in goals (19), and eighth in assists with 53.
Keller ('19) finished her time on the Heights as the program's career leader in defenseman scoring (158), goals (45), and assists (113) and sits in the top 10 overall in points (sixth), assists (fourth). Keller holds the Hockey East career points, goals, and assists records as well as the single-season points, goals, and assists records by a defenseman. She has 75 points (77 games) and 100 points (102 games). Keller led the nation in defenseman scoring in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was already an Olympic gold medalist and four-time gold medalist at the IIHF World Championships before graduating, and was named a Patty Kazmaier Award Top-3 Finalist to follow up Top-10 nods as a sophomore and junior. The two-time Cammi Granato Award winner as the Hockey East Player of the Year is the lone blue liner to ever win the award. Keller closed out her career as a three-time First Team All-American, the first in program history, was a four-time Hockey East All-Start First Team selection and three-time Hockey East Best Defenseman.
Carpenter ('16) finished her illustrious career at Boston College as the school's career leaders in points (278), goals (133), assists (145), power-play goals (26), game-winning goals (27), and plus/minus (+180). She was also the highest-scoring hockey player in school history, men or women … graduated third in career appearances (150). Carpenter completed her collegiate playing career as the NCAA's fifth-leading scorer (278 points) and ranked fifth in career goals (133) and sixth in career assists (145). Carpenter graduated as Hockey East's second-leading career scorer in conference games (160 points), second in career goals (76) and the league's career leader in assists (84).
